Your rights in the event of a delayed or cancelled Southwind Airlines flight
If you experience flight cancellations or delays with Southwind Airlines, it's important to remember that your rights as an air passenger are safeguarded by EU regulations. Depending on specific conditions, you might be eligible for compensation from Southwind Airlines of up to €600, as well as a full refund of your ticket price in the event of a cancelled flight.
- Was your Southwind Airlines flight delayed? If you arrived at your destination more than 3 hours behind schedule, it is highly likely that you are eligible for flight compensation.
- Was your Southwind Airlines flight cancelled? If you did not accept an alternative flight offered by the airline, you are entitled to a refund. Moreover, if the flight cancellation occurred less than 14 days before departure, you may be eligible for compensation for the cancelled Southwind Airlines flight.
- Irrespective of the cause or nature of the flight disruption, airlines are obligated to provide special assistance to passengers, known as the "right to care." This includes provisions such as food and beverage vouchers, communication services, and, if necessary, accommodations and transportation. You can claim these directly at the airline's service desk at the airport. If Southwind Airlines refuses to provide vouchers, you can personally make the required purchases and later request reimbursement for reasonable expenses.
Caution: If your flight delay or cancellation was due to "extraordinary circumstances," you may not be eligible for flight compensation, as the airline must be deemed responsible for the disruption in order to provide compensation to passengers.
