BA turn their back on Sharm El-Sheikh

Saturday, July 2, 2016

British Airways has announced that it has reversed its decision to resume flights to popular tourist destination Sharm El-Sheikh and abandon the service indefinitely.
The service was previously suspended after a Russian plane crash killed 224 passengers.
The airline had just recently announced that it was waiting on approval from the UK government to resume the service but has since abandoned plans to do so.
The move comes after most other UK airlines, including easyJet and Monarch, announced that they plan to resume flights later this year.
It is unclear at this point how BA’s decision this will affect the wider industry.
In a statement to Sky News on Tuesday, BA said:
"The safety and security of our customers will always be our top priority and we have suspended our flights to Sharm El-Sheikh indefinitely. Customers who hold bookings on any cancelled services for the coming winter season can claim a full refund or can use the money to cover a new booking with us for an alternative destination."
Daily BA services from London to Cario will continue as scheduled.
