British Airways’ new summer flights are ready and will start operating next week
Friday, May 11, 2018

In simple terms, British Airways increased their summer operations by 26% compared to 2017. They will operate new routes from 5 different regional airports and will be looking to adapt the frequency of established routes to meet what they perceive to be an increase in demand. The new routes, being operated through the summer, include flights to Florence and Dublin from Manchester.

British Airways’ Customer and Commercial Manager, Luke Hayhoe, stated the following: “We are growing our summer schedule from five regional airports to destinations that our customers tell us they want to fly to. Last year we almost doubled the number of routes we operated and this year we continue to add even more destinations and an additional 36,000 seats from the UK regions.”

Higher frequencies for some routes will also start in the subsequent weeks. These include the following departure airports and destinations:

Manchester to Florence, Málaga, Palma, Nice and Ibiza.

London Stansted to Nice and Florence.

Bristol to Malaga, Ibiza and Palma.

Birmingham to Florence and Palma.

Edinburgh to Florence.

If you were to suffer a flight delay or cancellation in any of these new or more frequent routes, you would have the right to claim for compensation. If you’ve already experienced a delay or cancellation in one of this routes (or any European flight for that matter) you can always use our claim calculator (for free) to find out if you are entitled to compensation:
