Vueling strikes — what is happening?

Vueling has announced new cabin crew strikes on Fridays, Sundays and Mondays in November, December and January, as well as walkouts on specific days: November 1st, 6th, 8th, 24th, and 31st, and January 5th, 2023.

The union has announced that strikes will continue until the airline is ready to negotiate a wage improvement for its workers. They claim that Vueling is dragging its feet in negotiating collective bargaining and in the meantime, cabin crew in Spain remain in precarious employment situations.

Over the summer, Vueling agreed to a 6.5% wage increase with another union. However, STAVLA claims that this is not enough and demands the wage to be increased by 13.4% this year.
